Report: Cowboys Agree to Two-Year Extension with Chris Jones

Jones has been the Cowboys full-time punter for the past two seasons

It looks like Chris Jones will be doing the punting in Dallas through the 2017 season.

According to ESPNโ€™s Field Yates, Jones has agreed to a two-year extension with the Cowboys.

He signed his restricted free agent tender for the 2015 season last week and, with the extension, he can earn up to $4.2 million over the next three years.

Jonesโ€™ deal comes with $750,000 guaranteed.

Jones has been in Dallas since 2011, but heโ€™s only served as the teamโ€™s full-time punter since 2013. In the past two seasons, Jones averaged 45.2 yards per punt and pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line 51 times.
