Report: Bill Callahan Joining the Redskins Staff

Callahan had been with the Cowboys since 2012

Bill Callahan will not be back with the Dallas Cowboys in 2015.

According to Ed Werder of ESPN, the former offensive coordinator and offensive line coach has agreed to a three-year deal to take over the Washington Redskins’ offensive line.

This isn’t especially surprising, as it was reported earlier this week that eight teams had interest in Callahan. Then on Wednesday, reports surfaced suggesting Callahan wouldn’t re-sign with Dallas until he explored his options elsewhere.

Callahan came to the Cowboys in 2012, after spending four seasons with the New York Jets. In 2013, he was named the team’s offensive playcaller but prior to this season, he was removed from that role as Scott Linehan took over. The move left Callahan somewhat miffed, but he got over it and helped Dallas to a 12-4 record in 2014.
