Newest Addition Further Signals Coming Trade?

For a few days now, there have been pretty significant rumors brewing that the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks are working on a trade.

It makes a ton of sense. The Diamondbacks are looking for relief help after loading up on starters by signing Zack Greinke and trading for Shelby Miller. Meanwhile, the Rangers have a surplus of top-notch relievers and have added two more this offseason in Tom Wilhelmsen and Japan League star Tony Barnette, who the Rangers signed on Thursday to a two-year deal.

Several teams have been contacting the Rangers about closer Shawn Tolleson and young fireballer Keone Kela, according to The Dallas Morning News, and one of those teams has been the Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks suddenly have several starters they could offer in a trade, most notably former top prospect Archie Bradley, as well as several other good, young arms.

The Rangers' top target here is undoubtedly Bradley, but after that there are some other good choices in guys like Rubby De La Rosa, Zack Godley and Wichita Falls native Chase Anderson, who also pitched at North Central Texas College in Gainesville and Oklahoma.

Tolleson is obviously more established, but Kela has a much higher ceiling, so it'd be interesting to see who the Diamondbacks covet more and who the Rangers would be more likely to part ways with.
