Mike Napoli has now played in 11 games with the Texas Rangers, since being reunited with the club following a trade with Boston a couple of weeks ago.
The fan favorite isn't what he was when he leading the Rangers to their second straight World Series back in 2011, but he's proving one thing: He can still mash left-handed pitching.
On Sunday afternoon in Detroit, he made what was just his fifth start of the season and he clubbed his second home run in the last week — his second in his last 11 at-bats.
Napoli is only starting against left-handed pitching as that's basically what he's been relegated to as a player, but his one trick is a pretty nice trick.
With Mark Buehrle and David Price set to start the next two games on Tuesday and Wednesday, it appears Napoli will get a couple of more starts at home this week, and we'll see if he can keep up his streak and improve on his .318 batting average since joining the Rangers.
