The Cowboys will draft 27th overall in the first round of the NFL Draft in April.
It will be the Cowboys first pick in round one since April of 2008 when they took Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins.
Last year, Jerry Jones traded away the Cowboys 1st rounder to Detroit for wide receiver Roy Williams (insert joke or roll your eyes). The Cowboys had the 20th pick overall and could have selected tackle Michael Oher and had their future replacement for Flozell Adams.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. reports the Cowboys still need to look in the first round and nab an offensive tackle. Expect a big dropoff from a guy like Oher being at the 27th pick.
I have been on this bandwagon since the summer. They have older players on the offensive line and older NFL players get hurt. The Cowboys don't have good depth at tackle outside of Doug Free.
Jerry Jones says the club is fine at the receiver position but we know they are not. Under that logice why did he draft tight end Martellus Bennett two years ago after another Pro Bowl season by Jason Witten?
Miles Austin is a Pro Bowl receiver. After that, nobody else will scare a defense. Roy Williams has been a bust and Patrick Crayton is a slot receiver, but not a number two receiver. They are trying to pin their hopes on Kevin Ogletree, a free agent from the 2009 class.
How many free agents does Jones think they can turn into Pro Bowlers? That's just working against the odds.
Jones has used a first or second round draft pick on a wide receiver since 1993, that was in 2002 when they selected Antonio Bryant 63rd (2nd round).
Amazingly, Jones has drafted four tight ends in the first two rounds since 1995. I can tell you from 105.3 The Fan radio interviews with Jones, he just believes it takes too long for high WR picks to adjust to the league. In other words, he wants an immediate impact. I think that's foolish. Santonio Holmes took some time to become a starter but he was named the Super Bowl MVP last year.
The Cowboys selected linebacker Bobby Carpenter and passed on Holmes. Who'd you rather see on the Cowboys roster right now?
Anyway..before I start on a rant, here's ESPN's Kiper take on what the Cowboys needs are:
Top needs: LT, WR, FS, LB, CB
First round (27): OT Bruce Campbell
Second-round options (59): S Chad Jones, S DeAndre McDaniel, LB Sean Lee, LB Daryl Washington, WR Mardy Gilyard
Third-round options (90): WR Jordan Shipley, LB Micah Johnson, CB Alterraun Verner, CB Trevard Lindley, S Harry Coleman
Summary: I think any Dallas fan would be happy if the team lands a talented tackle late in the first round, and Campbell could be an exceptional value when it's all said and done, because he continues to improve. I actually think Dallas can upgrade at the WR position, and Gilyard or Shipley could help in the slot. The Cowboys need a free safety, and it'll be interesting to see what they do if, somehow, Taylor Mays were to fall all the way to No. 27. I also think a fourth CB would be good and the crop is unremarkable, but there's some depth. I like Verner better than some and Lindley's been good.
