Loss Puts Damper on Dunbar's Big Day

Dunbar led the Cowboys in receiving with 10 catches on 100 yards in the loss to the Falcons

One of the positives to be taken from Sundayโ€™s 39-28 loss to the Atlanta Falcons is that the Dallas Cowboys may be starting to figure out how to best use Lance Dunbar.

Since the arrival of Scott Linehan, last year, the Cowboys have been moving toward using Dunbar primarily as a pass-catching running back, a role similar to that of Reggie Bush when he was playing under Linehan in Detroit.

In 2014 Dunbar finished with 18 catches for 217 yards, while running it just 29 times for a total of 99 yards.

This year, Dunbar just has two carries for 13 yards. But he has 21 catches for 215 yards, including a 10-catch, 100-yard performance against the Falcons on Sunday.

โ€œItโ€™s fun to be a bigger part of the offense, but Iโ€™m all about winning,โ€ Dunbar said, per ESPN Dallas. โ€œThe stats donโ€™t mean much when you donโ€™t win.โ€
