As the Cowboys get to work on Day 3, the training camp injury train rolls on.
Tight end James Hanna was forced to make an early exit from practice on Monday with a strained hamstring, just a couple days after a pair of starters--right guard Mackenzy Bernadeau and defensive tackle Jay Ratliff--suffered similar injuries.
โIt is disappointing,โ Hanna said, per the Dallas Morning News. โBut itโs better now than during the season.โ
A second-year Oklahoma product, Dallas remains high on the ultra-athletic Hanna, who figures to see an increase in playing time in the Cowboysโ tight end-heavy offensive attack in 2013, alongside veteran Jason Witten and rookie Gavin Escobar.
โWe really like James Hanna,โ said head coach Jason Garrett. โWe drafted him and his progress and development over the course of last year was unbelievable. He just got better and better and better before our eyes. As you guys remember, we used him a lot towards the end of the year and he really became a little bit of a mismatch player for us in certain situations. So we like what heโs all about, what heโs done, his development, his growth.โ
