Garrett Not Surprised By Hardy’s Big Day

Greg Hardy had five tackles, a pair of sacks and a forced fumble in the loss to the Pats

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy had two sacks of Tom Brady in the Cowboys’ 30-6 loss to the Patriots on Sunday, and came away feeling at once disappointed, because of the loss, and heartened by the home crowd that was on hand on Sunday.

It’s nothing like I’ve ever seen before,” Hardy said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.

Hardy finished with five tackles and two sacks, and one of those was a strip-sack (which the Patriots, of course, recovered), after making waves this week with his first comments since coming off suspension, which included a gun metaphor and an unsolicited mention of Brady’s wife.

Head coach Jason Garrett, who said Hardy had received a talking-to for those remarks, told reporters after the loss that he wasn’t exactly surprised by Hardy’s debut.

“He’s a good football player, and he works hard,” Garrett said. “He had a really good training camp for us and did well in the preseason. He had a good week of practice, so it didn’t surprise me that he would have a really good impact in the game.”
