Fantasy Land: Week 13 Remembered

After Adrian Peterson tore his anterior cruciate ligament late last season, the Minnesota Vikings had to have been sick at their stomachs. Coming into the 2012 season, there was a lot of doubt the star running back would be ready to go when the season started.

Not only did he play in the Vikings' first game, he made all those people who drafted Toby Gerhart to their fantasy teams look foolish as he's had one of his best seasons yet and has, so far anyway, stayed healthy.

On Sunday, Peterson's tear continued when he rushed for 210 yards on 21 carries with a long touchdown run against the rival Green Bay Packers. With the final week of the fantasy regular season being this past week for many, and this coming week for others, Peterson undoubtedly vaulted some folks into the postseason.

On the other end of the spectrum, there was New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees, a consensus top-3 fantasy quarterback year in and year out. And well, in this crucial week he bombed in a big way. Brees therw for a big yardage total (341) against the Atlanta Falcons but he didn't find the end zone once and was intercepted five, yes five, times.
