Dez Bryant Undergoing More Tests on Ankle, Foot

Bryant has been limited by foot and ankle issues all season

The Dallas Cowboys still haven’t ruled Dez Bryant out for Sunday’s season finale against the Redskins at AT&T Stadium, but he’ll undergo further testing on his foot and ankle this week.

Just evaluating where he is,” head coach Jason Garrett said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas.

Bryant returned on November 1 from the fractured foot he suffered in the regular season opener, but hasn’t looked much like himself since then.

On the year, he has just 31 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns. He stayed in Dallas when the team traveled to Buffalo last week.

According to Garrett, the Cowboys would be evaluating Bryant in the same way if they were in playoff contention.

“We really try to evaluate our players’ health independent of who we’re playing and when we’re playing, and where we’re playing and what the records are,” Garrett said. “And that was the case with Dez, his foot and his ankle have been bothering him for a few weeks now and just thought it was the right thing for him to do was not to play. He wasn’t able to practice, so that’s the decision we made. So we’ll see how he is here in the next couple of days and make our next best decision.”
