In hindsight, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman wishes he had undergone surgery for his sports hernia sooner. Newman, who is expected to return for the Cowboys’ game Nov. 16 at Washington, suffered the injury to the abdominal wall during the week of the season opener.
