Cards-Pack Provide Postseason Gem Yet Again

Packers Cardinals Football

If you're like me, you were pretty disappointed in yourself on Saturday night while watching the NFC Divisional Round playoff game between the Packers and Cardinals.

Why, you ask? Well, because you stuffed yourself with Mexican food, got food coma, and fell asleep after the Cardinals took the lead with just more than a minute to play. In case you didn't rewind after you woke up to Larry Fitzgerald celebrating in a postgame raucous like I did, here's what you missed.

Aaron Rodgers completed his second Hail Mary on the last play of regulation this season, this one to force overtime in a playoff game. Then, the ageless Larry Fitzgerald nearly went 80 yards on the first play of overtime before scoring on the very next play to give the Cardinals the win and a berth in the NFC Championship Game.

There you go. It was a classic, and it wasn't the first Packers-Cardinals playoff classic in recent years.

Back in 2010, the Cardinals beat the Packers in the same round in a 51-45 overtime thriller with Aaron Rodgers squaring off with Kurt Warner. Fitzgerald was a key figure in that game, as well, catching two touchdown passes with 82 yards receiving.

So, if you want playoff classics, just rig things every year to pit the Packers against the Cardinals because so far, they're 2-for-2.
