The Texas Rangers are still on the lookout for a starting rotation piece to bolster their staff, and preferably it'd be a guy who throws from the right side.

On Thursday, one of the big names left went off the market when Doug Fister signed a one-year contract worth $7 million with the Houston Astros to bolster the Astros' rotation that is fronted by reigning AL Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel.

Fister, 31, is coming off an injury plagued 2015 season with the Nationals when he went 5-7 with a 4.19 ERA after he went 16-6 with a 2.41 ERA in 2014. Before that, Fister was a really solid pitcher for the Detroit Tigers and has a career record of 65-63 and a 3.42 ERA.
