Report: Adrian Peterson To Meet With NFL This Week

Peterson was supposed to be eligible for reinstatement on April 15

When Tony Romo restructured his contract last week, clearing almost $13 million in cap space, many took it as a sign that the Dallas Cowboys were preparing to make a run at Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.

But before Peterson plays for the Cowboys, the Vikings or anyone else, he has to be cleared to play.

Peterson was placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt List back in February after the NFL appealed Federal Judge David Doty’s decision to end Peterson’s indefinite suspension, and he’s been there--essentially in limbo--ever since.

After appearing in just one game last season, Peterson will be eligible for full reinstatement on April 15 but according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport, he will meet with league officials ahead of that date sometime this week--to discuss reinstatement.

Once Peterson is reinstated, of course, the discussion of where he’ll play in 2015 can begin in earnest.
