When alerted to them, Adrian Beltre more or less shrugged off the claims made by his former teammate Eric Gagne in a new French-language book, in which Gagne estimates that around 80 percent of the players on the Dodgers teams he played for used performance enhancing drugs.
Beltre was a teammate of Gagne’s with the Dodgers from 1999-2004.
“He should have named names,” Beltre said, per the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t know what you want me to tell you … For him to say something like that, he should have come out with names instead of a percentage.”
Unsurprisingly, given his reaction, Beltre said he has no plans to read Gagne’s book.
“My French isn’t too good,” he said.
