The state’s largest high school, with almost 6,700 students, Allen has found success through a unique recipe of a one-school ideology and a small district footprint, fast growth and prodigious ambition.

Not everyone can be like Allen.

But not everyone wants to be.

Given an opportunity to grow their own mega high schools, nearly all of the fast-growing school districts in Dallas/Fort Worth area have opted against that route, balking at the concept of a 5,000- or 6,000-student high school.
