"And luckily I was part of the squad that got to close out Texas Stadium, and will hopefully will get to open the new stadium, this organization is just so wonderful."

This year the competition is expected to be tougher than ever because the Dallas Cowboys football team moves into it's brand new $1.2 billion stadium.

"Have your mind set on the goal and what you want to look like on the stage and just wow the judges," said Jordan Chanley.

During the preliminary round, candidates will be expected perform a short freestyle dance to show the judges they have rhythm and know how to get noticed. Those who do will be selected for the semi-final round.

“We already have candidates registered from 26 states and many diverse backgrounds trying out this year,” said Kelli Finglass, director, Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.  “We are looking for attractive, poised and talented entertainers who can be molded into elite performers and outstanding role models for our world class organization."
