Deondre Parks scored 21 points and Mike Daum had 17 as South Dakota State held on for a 76-67 victory over TCU on Saturday as part of the Cancun Challenge.
South Dakota State (3-0) led by 22 with 15:13 remaining before a 17-1 TCU run over the next six minutes cut the lead to 6. The Jackrabbits had 10 turnovers and went 0 for 8 from the field over that time.
Brandon Parrish, who finished with 17 points for the Horned Frogs (2-0), made it a one-possession game at 63-60 with 3:30 remaining on a 3-pointer from the right wing.
However, the Jackrabbits countered with a 7-2 run, capped by George Marshall's 3-pointer from the left baseline for an 8-point lead with 1:35 remaining.
Marshall had 12 points, while Reed Tellinghuisen had 11 points and seven boards for South Dakota State.
