Jason Terry Lands With Houston Rockets

As if it needed any extra subplots, the Mavs-Rockets’ rivalry just got even a little more interesting.

Jason Terry, Houston Rocket.

Ouch.

The Mavericks, of course, stole Chandler Parsons away from the Rockets early in free agency. That move ravaged Houston’s summer plans to acquire Chris Bosh and become an elite contender. Left reeling and badly in need of backcourt depth, they are now counting on the former Maverick after acquiring him in a trade with the Sacramento Kings.

Terry is all but done at age 36. Last year in Brooklyn he played in only 35 games and averaged just 4.5 points on 36-percent shooting. The jet isn’t on the runway, but instead slowly veering off toward the hangar.

Terry wanted to finish his career in Dallas. But will likely now do so in Houston, as a role player for the Mavs’ newest, biggest rival.
