Well, aren’t we on a nice little sports roll around here?

During the past year and a bit we’ve had the NBA All-Star Game, the World Series, the Super Bowl, and now, well through yesterday, the NBA Finals all between Dallas and Arlington, two of which played out at Cowboys Stadium, aka: Dallas Coliseum.

As of Sunday, we can add to the list the National Senior Games — or at least an exhibition thereof — at the Coliseum.

The Geritolympians from the Dallas-Fort Worth area will carry the National Senior Games torch in a relay around the stadium and then … something.

The event starts at 2:30 p.m., June 12, with closing ceremonies commencing at 4:30 p.m. According to the official press release, the senior athletes — including Kay Seemayer, coach of the Granny Globetrotters basketball team, and four members of the Texas Senior Games Hall of Fame — "will orbit the AT&T West Plaza at Cowboys Stadium."

Orbit? That, in itself, should be worth the price of admission, which by the way, is free so totally worth it.
