Russia, China Veto UN Move for Syria Investigation

Russia and China vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution Thursday that would have referred the crisis in Syria to the International Criminal Court, NBC News reported. Supporters of the resolution, who were looking for an investigation into possible war crimes committed by the government of President Bashar Assad, were furious at the two countries, who have used their veto power three times before to stop action against Assad. "The Syrian people will not see justice today," said U.S. Ambassador Samantha Power, who supported the French-drafted resolution.
