Storms Lash Midwest With Hail, High Winds

A severe storm system dropped baseball-sized hail and lashed South Dakota with high winds as parts of the Midwest brace for a bout of bad weather Saturday afternoon into the evening, NBC News reported. Into the afternoon and evening, the storm will move toward central Illinois and Indiana, where severe thunderstorms are expected to form, said Dale Eck, director of the global forecast center at The Weather Channel. That storm is likely to dump hail from eastern Nebraska to the Ohio Valley, with the added possibility of tornadoes. Overnight, the storm will move east and southeast, threatening the East Coast with possible hail and tornadoes Sunday.
