Inside Boston’s Skinny “Spite House”
The “Skinny House” in Boston, which according to legend was built out of spite, has a new owner who is now living in a piece of Boston history. The 1,166-square-foot, four-floor home at 44 Hull Street in the North End sold to an anonymous buyer for $900,000 in May. According to local legend, two brothers had inherited the surrounding land from their father in the 1800’s. One of the brothers decided to build a large home while the other was fighting in the Civil War. When the soldier returned, he decided to build the thin construction right outside his sibling’s window to block the view out of spite. Take a look at the narrow fixtures of this super skinny home.
