It turns out that Lloyd Dobler can't just say anything.
John Cusack, the actor behind that iconic 80s character, is in trouble for cranking up the social media equivalent of a boom box - Twitter - and blasting a loud screed right outside the metaphorical house of Fox News, reports Entertainment Weekly.
By way of responding to a question on Twitter about the proposed Islamic center near Ground Zero, the "Hot Tub Time Machine" star indicated that he was in favor of it before tweeting, "I AM FOR A SATANIC DEATH CULT CENTER AT FOX NEWS HQ AND OUTSIDE THE OFFICES [OF DICK] ARMEY AND NEWT GINGRICH-and all the GOP WELFARE FREAKS."

This, unsurprisingly, did not sit well with personalities at Fox, which cited a psychiatrist, Dr. Carole Lieberman, in its own article on the offending message. She said that Cusack's missive could "incite a rabid fan to commit violent acts against Fox News Headquarters and others he named."
Cusack, a political progressive who often contributes to the left leaning Huffington Post, has not explained the remark, leaving its meaning up to interpretation.
