Chrisette Michele, who won the Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance in 2009, has reportedly signed on to perform at President-elect Donald Trump's Inauguration Friday. And some of her fans are less than thrilled, including the bandleader from "The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon."
Questlove Gomez tweeted he would "pay" Michele not to perform at the event. The singer joins a group that includes 16-year-old "America’s Got Talent" contestant Jackie Evancho, country singer Toby Keith and post-grunge band 3 Doors Down.
Broadway star Jennifer Holliday backed out as an inaugural performer last week, saying she did not realize that her participation would be interpreted as a statement of support for Trump.
Holliday, best known for her Tony-winning role in Broadway's "Dreamgirls," faced pressure from her gay, lesbian and black fans when it was announced she would sing at a Thursday concert at Washington's Lincoln Memorial.
