Westbound Interstate 635 was closed for several hours in Irving after a fatal crash Friday morning, according to authorities. [[366176181,C]]
Police said a pickup truck crashed into a bridge support beam near North MacArthur Boulevard in Irving just before 4:30 a.m.
One person was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital. Authorities later confirmed that the person had died.
Officials said the road could be closed for a while as they test the structural integrity of the bridge.
As of 7:45 a.m., only the left lane remained closed.
