Three Charged in Slaying of Del Valle Man

Three suspects have been charged in the slaying of a Del Valle man last month.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that 41-year-old Reginald "Slim" Wright, 37-year-old Clifton Wade and 24-year-old Chelsea Wilhelm are charged with capital murder in the death of 62-year-old Lee King.

Wright was a former roommate of the victim, but was kicked out of the house after a dispute with King, the Austin American-Statesman said.

A Travis County sheriff's office spokesman says the three suspects planned to rob King of his debit card PINs together on May 31. Investigators say the three suspects taped King's wrists, injected him with a meth/poison mix and beat him with a rifle butt.

When the house alarm went off and Travis County officers arrived, one of the alleged robbers first fled the scene, while Wade pretended to be a victim, the Austin American-Statesman reported. Investigators later proved Wade to be a part of the scheme to rob King.

The three suspects were being held at the Travis County Jail on Saturday. Wright was held on a $375,000 bail, and Wilhelm and Wade had bails of $250,000.

It wasn't immediately clear if they have lawyers.
