The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office says a 60-year-old racing crew member from northeast Texas was killed when his brother accidentally backed a dragster into him at a northwest Louisiana track.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick said 60-year-old Steven Smith died at a hospital after the accident involving his 55-year-old brother, Stuart Smith.
Both are from Atlanta, Texas.
She says in a news release that investigators have not filed any charges connected to Monday's accident at the Red River Raceway in Gilliam, about 25 miles north of Shreveport.
Chadwick said the Smith-Fair Racing crew was conducting test runs as part of the National Hot Rod Association licensing process.
Lt. Michael Gray said alcohol was not a factor.
