The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified 17-year-old Matthew Franklin as the teenager who died Saturday evening when his canoe capsized in Benbrook Lake.
He and two other friends were in the canoe when it happened at about 8:30 p.m., according to authorities.
Two of them were able to get to shore, but Franklin did not.
His body was recovered around 10:40 p.m. by a dive team, officials said.
Benbrook and Fort Worth Fire Departments responded to this call, as well as the Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens.
