Stolen Steaks Lead to High-Speed Chase: Longview Police

Police in East Texas said a man stole steaks from a Wal-Mart and tossed meat from his vehicle while leading authorities on a high-speed chase Wednesday.

Longview police said the pursuit began at about 11 a.m. after the man fled the store.

East Mountain Patrol Sgt. Marc Nichols told TV station KLTV he joined the chase and noticed the suspect was throwing the meat out of his vehicle. He said one steak even bounced off his patrol car.

The TV station reported that the man fled across two counties at speeds over 100 mph, before deputies apprehended him in Upshur County.

No officers were injured.
