Dallas-based Southwest is doing its part to help families directly affected by the mass shooting in Las Vegas that left 58 victims dead and more than 500 injured.
In a statement, the airline said, "Our Southwest Hearts are with everyone affected by the tragedy in Las Vegas," and that it's currently working with authorities there to provide travel for the affected families.
At a press conference Monday night, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said MGM Resorts, which owns several hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, would be offering free rooms for those families and would also coordinate their air travel through Southwest.

Southwest joined several other airlines Monday in waiving all change fees for passengers who adjusted their travel in and out of Las Vegas.
