Shelter Dog Climbs to New Heights to Get Forever Home

A homeless dog whose photo went viral is still looking for a forever home.

Earlier this week, Frankie climbed to new heights in order to get adopted from a Fort Worth animal shelter.

He was is so eager to find a forever family, he climbed to the top of his cage at the Humane Society of North Texas to show off to everyone, officials said.

(Don't worry. As soon as employees saw Frankie at the top of his cage, they safely got him down. He was moved to another kennel with a chain link ceiling since he's obviously a climber to prevent it from happening again.)

Shelter officials say that although Frankie is now famous, he still hasn't been adopted and he wants more than anything to be with a family.

When Frankie arrived at HSNT's East Lancaster shelter, his collar was so tight, it had embedded several inches under his skin. He required surgery to repair the wound.

Now, he's a happy, friendly dog who loves to play and can't wait to meet his new family.
