Former governor of Alaska and vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is attending Monday's memorial for slain Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle.
Palin made the announcement on her Facebook page Monday morning that she, along with her husband Todd, will be in attendance.
"We may never know to what extent Chris kept us free or how many lives he saved by his brave actions in the line of fire. But his fellow warriors know how important he was," Palin said in the statement. "God bless this great warrior. Let us keep his wife and children in our prayers, and may we never forget him or his sacrifice."

Palin also made mention that she would like to see flags flown at half staff to honor Kyle.
Arlington police said other dignitaries and politicians are expected to attend, but that officials were not in a position to reveal those names -- rather leaving it up to individuals to announce their intention to attend.
