Police are investigating a reported murder-suicide at a Garland nursing home.[[294917901,C]]
Officers responded to Winters Park Assisted Living and Memory Care in the 3400 block of Wagon Wheel Road Tuesday morning on a report of someone bleeding.
When they arrived, they found the bodies of Arthur Smith, 85, and his wife, Charlene, 81, in Charlene's room.
Based on a preliminary investigation and evidence on the scene, detectives believe Arthur shot and killed Charlene, then turned the gun on himself.
Police are waiting on a cause of death from the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office before making an official ruling.
