Mesquite Woman Says Her Dog Was ‘Mistakenly' Euthanized

A Mesquite woman is pushing for answers after she said her dog was mistakenly euthanized by the city’s animal shelter.

Chris Swain spoke during the Mesquite City Council Meeting, urging representatives to examine the city’s policy concerning animals who are picked up and then quarantined.

Swain, who said her dog was taken in by the animal shelter and "mistakenly euthanized,” said the city should document incidents where dogs are required to be quarantined.

"By the time I found out my dog was there, he was put down," she said. "I don’t want another person to go through the pain that I have been through.”

Several people joined Swain at the meeting holding signs with the message, “animal lives matter.”
