The city of Mesquite evidently wants no part of beer barns.
According to a Dallas Morning News article published Wednesday, the city council voted in unison to enact an ordinance that bans the drive-through purveyors of brew from inside city limits β¦ because they canβt do squat about anything outside city limits, duh.
The move comes at a time when no such enterprises exist in Mesquite and before any business entity even filed an application to construct such a structure.
You can almost hear council members saying, βWe jest don't cotton ta y'all's kind 'round he-uh." I said βalmost.β
The article reports that council defined such operations as those with βa drive-through design concept, enclosed on two or more sides where vehicles may pull into or through the building.β Um, Iβm no architect but is seems like a building enclosed on more than two sides would either prevent a vehicle from entering or impede its egress.
