Man Leads Police On Chase, Tries To Swallow Drugs: PD

A man is under arrest in Terrell, accused of leading police on a slow-speed chase through the city, while also allegedly trying to eat the narcotics he had in his possession.

Terrell Police Capt. A.D. Sansom confirmed the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Cayetano Vigil Jr., led police on a chase at speeds less than 40 miles per hour from Rockwall Street to Roosevelt Court, where Vigil was blocked into a cul-de-sac.

During the pursuit, Vigil was throwing things out the window of the car, and possibly ate narcotics, said Sansom.

Vigil was taken into custody without further incident.

Police found 34.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 0.8 grams of Xanax in the vehicle.

Vigil will face charges for evading arrest, as well as other drug-related charges, police said.

Vigil was taken to the hospital for medical treatment due to the possibility that he swallowed narcotics, according to Sansom.
