A Fort Worth man is lucky to be alive after he disappeared during a walk to buy a lottery ticket, police say.
Acension Garcia, 69, was reported missing by his family on Monday after he didn't return home.
He left his house that evening to walk to a neighborhood store to buy a lottery ticket.
As the intense search began for the man, Officer Dustin Shaw discovered a large, open construction hole near the area where they believed Garcia was walking.
Garcia was found at the bottom of the seven-foot hole, lying in shallow water. He was OK, but scared and cold.
NBC 5's Scott Gordon contributed to this report.
