Dallas police said a man died after showing signs of medical distress while in police custody Wednesday night. [[320875671,C]]
Police said they received several 911 calls about a man rolling around on the ground, removing his clothing and yelling "Help me" near the intersection of Peavy Road and Carnegie Drive at about 10 p.m.
Two paramedics and four police officers responded and found the man sitting on the curb on the 1700 block of Peavy Road, according to police.
Officers handcuffed the man for safety while paramedics provided medical assistance, but he soon started showing signs of medical distress.
Paramedics performed CPR and transported him to Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake where he was pronounced dead.
The man's identity and cause of death has not yet been released.
The Special Investigations Unit is investigating the man's death.
