Man Arrested for DWI With Child Passenger After Crash: Dallas Police

Police said they arrested a 38-year-old man for driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a crash with two young boys in his car in Dallas Sunday night.

Dallas police officers responded to a call about a single-vehicle crash on Stoneport Drive near Great Trinity Forest Way at about 11:30 p.m.

Investigators said the driver of a white 2014 Chevrolet Impala โ€” later identified as 38-year-old Ivan Woodard โ€” drove down an embankment, went airborne and struck a tree.

Police said two young boys โ€” ages 2 and 3 years old โ€” were in the vehicle at the time, but were properly restrained in car seats. Woodard and the two boys were transported to a hospital as a precaution, according to police. No injuries were reported.

Dallas police said Woodard was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger and transported to Lew Sterret Jail.
