Police responded to a domestic dispute call where a woman claimed her boyfriend, 25-year-old Devon White, hit her with a car in the 3800 block of Morning View Drive.

When officers arrived at about 12:45 a.m., police said the victim was struggling to walk. She told officers she and White were arguing and he punched her in the face when she tried to stop him from leaving.

Police said they saw White trying to leave and ordered him to stop. White ignored and drove away.

White led officers on a brief chase before he stopped about 9 miles away at his mother's house in the 2000 block of Gospel Drive, according to police.

Police said they took White into custody and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evading arrest.

The victim was treated by Dallas Fire-Rescue at the scene and released.

Other updates will be once they are completed.
