Fort Worth Firefighters Rescue 73-Year-Old Man From Burning House

The man was hospitalized in critical condition

A 73-year-old man was hospitalized after he was rescued from a burning home early Sunday morning in Fort Worth, fire officials say.

Fort Worth firefighters responded shortly after 5 a.m. to residence in the 3200 block of Knox Street, which had been converted into a multi-family home.

Firefighters treated the man for smoke inhalation and performed CPR using a mechanical device, fire officials said.

The man was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in critical condition, according the fire department.

The fire displaced the seven residents who lived in the home.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
