Former Plano Firefighter Sentenced for Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child

A former Plano firefighter was sentenced to 60 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child, prosecutors announced.

According to Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis, 45-year-old Larry Combest, of McKinney, molested a child in Wylie from 2002 until about 2004.

The child was 11 to 14 years old at the time. The victim, now an adult, told a sibling in 2015 about the abuse after learning that two other children said Combest abused them.

Wylie police spoke to the adult victim about the abuse and investigated the case.

Combest was arrested Dec. 21 and charged with indecency with a child.

The jury sentenced Combest to 60 years in prison for aggravated sexual assault of a child and 20 years for each count of indecency with a child. The sentences will run concurrently.
