Woman Killed While Trying to Cross Jacksboro Highway in Fort Worth

A woman was killed while trying to cross a busy highway in Fort Worth this week.Christeena Long was attempting to cross the 1600 block of Jacksboro Highway, near Rockwood Park, about 10:30 p.m. Monday when she was struck in the northbound lanes, police reports show. Long, 44, was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.Police told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that Long attempted to cross the highway in a place not designated for pedestrian crossing.
