Representatives from Dish Network will demonstrate how to install a DTV converter box, and the FCC will be available with information on the June 12 switch.
Dish Network will also distribute coverter boxes to people who bring a valid $40 voucher from the NTIA. Dish Network will not be selling the boxes.
The event will be held Friday from 8 a.m. to noon and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center at 2922 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Dallas. Click here for directions and a map.

By June 12, 2009, consumers receiving their programming over-the-air with an analog television will need to make one of three choices about how to watch TV after that date: 1.) Buy a TV converter box that will plug into the analog TV; 2.) Buy a TV with a digital tuner; or 3.) Connect the analog TV to cable, satellite or other pay service.
Households can apply for up to two $40 coupons to be used toward the purchase of certified TV converter boxes at www.DTV2009.gov; by phone at 1-888-DTV-2009 (1-888-388-2009) or for TTY 1-877-530-2634 (English), 1-866-495-1161 (Spanish); by fax at 1-877-DTV-4ME2 (1-877-388-4632); or by mail to P.O.
