Dump Truck Barrels Into Austin Traffic

Four people were injured Friday when a dump truck hauling gravel barreled into traffic in Northwest Austin, KXAN-TV reports.

Austin police told KXAN the crash took place just before 9 a.m. at the intersection of Jester Boulevard and Farm-to-Market Road 2222 when a dump truck slammed into a the back of a Honda sedan stopped at a stop light.

The collision pushed the sedan through the intersection and into a ravine -- the dump truck followed, but not before hitting two other vehicles.

The crash was recorded on dashcam by Glen Bandel and his wife, who were also stopped at the intersection and were nearly hit themselves.

KXAN reports four people were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
