Driver Pulled to Safety in Rowlett

Car became stuck in high water on Main Street

Firefighters rescued a driver who became trapped on under a bridge in southeastern Rowlett in high water Tuesday night.

The driver of a small blue car was stuck in high water under a bridge in the 3000 block of Main Street.

Firefighters pulled the driver to safety. Authorities said the driver was not seriously injured but was shaken up.

The area is known for flooding. Rowlett police said they would close that stretch of Main Street throughout the night. They hoped to reopen it in the morning if the rain lets up overnight.
