A driver accused of crashing into another vehicle on Interstate 35E in Lewisville Sunday night fled the scene by jumping into Lewisville Lake, police say.
Witnesses told authorities they saw the man jump from the highway bridge into the lake, hit the water below but never saw him again.
Firefighters used a boat to search for the man Sunday night, but the Denton County Sheriff's Office told NBC 5 the driver was never located and that they do not plan on continuing the search in the lake Monday.
No one was injured in the minor crash, the sheriff's department said.
Officials have not released the driver's identity.
