A 9-year-old girl is hospitalized in critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle Monday in McKinney.
Police and fire crews were called just after noon to the 200 block of East Louisiana Street, where they said the girl was hit while crossing at the cross walk.
The girl was transported to Children's Medical Center of Dallas, police said.
The driver of the vehicle that struck her, identified as 54-year-old William Weir, was arrested and charged with intoxication assault.
The collision remains under investigation, and further information has not yet been released.
