Dallas Drivers Waste an Average of $726 Million Every Year Searching for Parking

You can now add parking to the list of struggles North Texans face while on the road.

Americans spend an average of 17 hours per year looking for spots on streets, garages or lots and waste $73 billion per year trying to find parking. This is according to a study by INRIX, a specialists in transportation analytics.

In Dallas, it costs drivers a combined $726 million dollars every year in wasted fuel, time, and emissions.

The average Dallas driver spends 48 hours a year looking for parking, and spends nearly $1,000 a year during the search.

Dallas ranked as the ninth most expensive city for drivers in regard to money and time spent looking for parking.

The most expensive city in the study was New York City, followed by Los Angeles and San Francisco.
